SEO Terminology /Definitions

  • Google AdWords: the cost-per-click advertising tool branded by Google.
    • Other companies have their own version of this product specifically for Bing and Yahoo, but Google AdWords is the most prevalent and most likely what clients will be asking you about.
  • PPC: “Pay per click”. This term only strays slightly from “cost per click”, which is more specific (i.e. "we are bidding 1 USD CPC at maximum".)
  • When talking with clients, you can simply call the purchase of ads “PPC”.
    • If they ask why we do not offer PPC, here are a few reasons you can provide:

    • We only offer services that adhere to our standard of ETHICS- we spare clients additional investments that run a high risk of loss without much return.We focus on organic growth because PPC will not guarantee more clients visit their practice- what gets clients through the door are plentiful reviews and an updated website with lots of important info about the practice
